Words that outlast the silence

The last word
that remains.

A letter, voice or video for your loved ones — safely stored and delivered once you are no longer here.

How it works

How it works

Five steps. One promise.

  1. 01

    Write a message

A letter, voice or video. Stored privately — only you can see it.

  2. 02

    Choose recipients

Who it is for. Family, children, friends — by email or SMS.

  3. 03

    Set up the check

Now and then we quietly ask whether you are here. Nothing more.

  4. 04

    We verify. We protect.

Your trusted contacts must independently confirm the death. A single “alive” stops everything.

  5. 05

    We deliver

When the time comes, the message arrives. Exactly as you wished.

Rule #1

While you are alive, we deliver nothing to anyone. A single “alive” confirmation — or your own sign-in — halts the entire process at once.

Why we exist

My children will never hear their grandmother’s voice.

On 10 February 2015 my mother died. Suddenly. The woman who brought me into the world, raised me and loved me was gone from one day to the next. That day broke me — and showed me how unbelievably short life is.

A year later I got married. We had a son, then a daughter. And with them came a realization that never let go: they will never hear their grandmother’s voice. She died too suddenly to leave a message behind.

I wished there were a place where a person could leave a letter, a voice or a video for their loved ones — before they go. There wasn’t. So saylastword was born. So that no voice disappears before it can say what matters most.

Our promise

Built to outlast even us.

Nothing leaves while you live

A single “alive” confirmation — or your own sign-in — halts everything at once. A mistake is impossible by design.

The legacy guarantee

A message is never silently deleted. Even if you stop paying, your words remain protected and deliverable.

Privacy as the foundation

Messages are private. We don't read them, sell data, or show ads. Only the people they belong to will ever see them.

No lock-in

Take your data with you anytime. Open standards, no hidden terms.

Questions

What people ask.

What if you shut down?

We cannot promise we will be here forever — nobody can make that promise truthfully. We do promise you will not lose your words in silence: we would give at least 6 months' notice, and you could download everything in open formats.

I am on holiday and miss a check. What happens?

Nothing straight away. A missed check gives you several more days, and only then do we ask your trusted contacts. A single sign-in from you stops the whole process at once.

What if a recipient's e-mail changes in twenty years?

We find out — we read the bounces, so a message is never quietly marked delivered. If you allowed it for that message, we ask your trusted contacts for a working address.

What if a trusted contact does not answer, or dies before me?

That is why you can name several and decide yourself how many confirmations are enough. Without confirmation, nothing is delivered.

Who can read my message?

Only you and the person it is for. Not us — we do not read the contents, analyse them or use them for anything else.

What if I stop paying?

You cannot write new messages, but the stored ones stay and will be delivered. We never quietly delete them.

Can I change or delete a message later?

Any time. While you are here, it is entirely your business.
